Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) National

TIS National from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) provides telephone interpreters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is accessible from anywhere in Australia for the cost of a local call on 13 14 50.

National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI)

NAATI provides a Directory of Accredited Practitioners of Translating and Interpreting. You can view the Online Directory , or you can call NAATI directly on 1300 557 470 (within Australia) for assistance in locating an accredited practitioner.

Yellow Pages

Translators and interpreters can be found in the Yellow Pages under "Interpreters" and/or "Translators".

Department of Human Services information in other languages

The Department of Human Services provides translations of many of their online publications. Publications cover information for newly arrived migrants, part-time and casual workers, social security agreements between Australia and various countries and other payments and services.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) information in other languages

The ATO provides online foreign language publications on understanding tax in Australia. Versions are available in Arabic, Assyrian, Auslan, Burmese, Chinese, Croatian, Dari, Dinka, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Karen, Khmer, Korean, Macedonian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
